What is Domain?
A domain name is a unique address that identifies a website on the internet. It's the name that people type into their web browser to access your website. For example, the domain name for Google is "google.com".
A domain name consists of two parts: the top-level domain (TLD) and the second-level domain (SLD). The TLD is the part of the domain name that comes after the last dot, such as ".com", ".org", or ".net". The SLD is the part of the domain name that comes before the TLD, such as "google" in "google.com".
When you register a domain name, you become the owner of that domain name and have exclusive rights to use it for your website. You can use your domain name to create a website or to set up email addresses for your business.
Domain names are registered through domain registrars, which are companies that are authorized by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to sell and manage domain names. When you register a domain name, you pay a fee to the registrar for the right to use that domain name for a specific period of time, usually one year.
In addition to the TLD and SLD, a domain name can also include subdomains, which are prefixes to the SLD. For example, "blog.google.com" is a subdomain of "google.com". Subdomains are used to create separate sections of a website, such as a blog or a forum.
